Green India Foundation Trust(GIFT)

The Green India Foundation Trust (GIFT) is a non-governmental organization based in Ballabhgarh, Faridabad, Haryana. Established on August 7, 2018, under the Indian Trust Registration Act, it is registered with the Sub-Registrar in Ballabhgarh. The trust is led by President Jagdeesh Chaudhary, Secretary Ravindra Singh, and Treasurer Usha Dagar.

Green India Foundation Trust (GIFT)  is a non-governmental organization dedicated to environmental conservation, water resource protection, and promoting ecological awareness among citizens. The Trust believes that sustainable development can only be achieved through collective action, education, and grassroots participation. It organizes large-scale initiatives such as tree plantation drives, awareness yatras, wetland protection marches, and environmental workshops to sensitize people about the importance of nature. One of its key campaigns involves the rejuvenation of dried or polluted lakes, ponds, and wetlands, including efforts to restore the iconic Badkhal Lake in Haryana. The Trust also promotes water literacy, understanding of traditional water systems, and encourages community-led conservation. By engaging schools, colleges, local communities, and policy-makers, the Trust fosters a sense of responsibility toward India’s natural heritage. With the motto that nature is for all, it invites everyone to contribute—through effort, time, or expertise—towards building a greener, more sustainable future.

Key Initiatives and Achievements

GIFT focuses on environmental conservation, public health, and community development. Notable initiatives include:

Ganga Sadbhawna Yatra (2018–2019): A campaign from Gangotri to Ganga Sagar aimed at promoting river conservation and fostering communal harmony.

Aviral Ganga Yatra (2019): A 7-month awareness campaign emphasizing the importance of a continuous and clean flow of the Ganga River, engaging over 1.1 million participants.

Pond Rejuvenation Projects: Efforts to restore water bodies in Faridabad, Rohtak, and Kaithal, enhancing local water resources and biodiversity.

Through these initiatives, the foundation aims to create a cleaner, greener, and more ecologically balanced India while empowering citizens to take active responsibility for preserving nature.
